Rentokil Initial, the leading supplier in facilities management, pest
control, washroom hygiene, contract cleaning and clinical waste
management to commercial and government organisations, has selected Kronos®
to optimise workforce management across the organisation. The initial
scope of the programme covers 29,000 employees within the Initial
Facilities division, with the option to roll out to the entire group of
66,000 employees. The programme covers solutions for employee time and attendance management, absence management and employee scheduling.
Debbie Dowling, MD Commercial Sector, Initial Facilities explains:
“Following our decision to implement a workforce management system
across our entire company, we set out to find a strategic partner to
work with us on a wide range of workforce initiatives. We undertook an
extensive tender process and selected Kronos because the team there
demonstrated the depth of knowledge, systems expertise and skills we
required from a partner. Kronos fully understands the challenges we
face, with long-standing expertise in workforce management solutions
coupled with unrivalled domain experience in contract services.”
Kronos will replace the wide range of time management systems used
across the Rentokil Initial organisation. Debbie explains: “Kronos will
allow us to standardise on one system and simplify processes across the
business. This will enable us to improve on our service delivery, pay
accurately and drive out complex processes. Having a single,
centralised system will give us better Management Information and clear
visibility to the workforce wherever they are employed in the UK, and we
will also be able to benchmark procedures and ensure best practice is
in place.”
Data collection with Kronos will be through GPRS enabled biometric
technology and a telephony based IVR (Interactive Voice Response)
service. Automating data collection for the payroll system will drive
out inefficiencies and will ensure pay is accurate for all members of
staff.
Rentokil Initial also expects to improve accuracy around budget v
scheduled staff overheads. Kronos will ensure that there is tighter
control between scheduled and deployed staff, therefore improving
accuracy in this key area.
Simon Macpherson, Operations Director, Kronos Systems says: “Managing
labour in contract services where margins are tight is a key priority
to improving service delivery and profitability. We are delighted to be
working with Rentokil Initial on this range of workforce management
programmes.”
Implementation has commenced and will take place in three phases over the next nine months for the current workforce of 29,000.
